ABOUT DR. NEDA BURLEIGH

  As a Licensed Educational Psychologist, Dr. Burleigh has had over 20 years of experience working with and providing comprehensive psycho-educational assessments and counseling services for children and adolescents who are experiencing learning, behavioral, emotional, or other difficulties. Her experience is extensive at conducting assessments for families, private schools, nonpublic schools, public schools, advocacy agencies, juvenile court system and regional centers. Dr. Burleigh is very experienced in working with the foster care and juvenile court systems and has worked specifically with this population for over 3 years.  She provides assessments in the areas of cognition, academics, processing, and social-emotional functioning.  Dr. Burleigh also provides assessments for Educationally Related Intensive Mental Health Services (ERMHS/ERICS).  She approaches assessments using a holistic approach, sensitive to the fact that each child/adolescent is unique and brings with him/her a variety of factors to consider as part of the evaluation process.

Dr. Burleigh received her master’s degree and Pupil Services Credential in School Psychology from California State University, Sacramento. She continued her education and received a doctorate in Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology with an emphasis in Educational and Clinical Psychology. Dr. Burleigh is licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Educational Psychologist. She has a National Board Certification from the American Institute of Holistic Health & Wellness as a Holistic Psychology Practitioner. She has also served as an adjunct professor for Alliant International University. 

In addition to her experience as a psychologist, Dr. Burleigh has served as a Program Specialist in a public school district where she was responsible for creating educational programs for elementary schools and alternative programs.  Dr. Burleigh has helped many families navigate their way through the maze of special education.  She works hard to empower parents so that they gain the confidence and knowledge to be engaged in their children’s education. Dr. Burleigh also provides consultative services/support and presentations for parent education as well as school staff.
